The Cleveland Eye Bank holds a three year accreditation – the highest possible – from the Eye Bank Association of America. Such accreditation indicates compliance with EBAA Medical Standards. The Eye Bank is also a member of VisionShare, a non profit consortium of 15 US eye banks. Member eye banks cooperate to provide mutually beneficial support services to members. VisionShare is a leader in the eye banking community in promoting the highest achievable standards in eye donor tissue quality. The Cleveland Eye Bank operates within the regulatory guidelines of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The Eye Bank is registered with the FDA as an “Establishment for Human Cellular and Tissue Based Products.” The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also inspects Cleveland Eye Bank for compliance with public safety and regulatory guidelines. certificates |
